On the 20th August 2020, Brickworks launched their latest architectural speaker series event, inDETAIL. Hosted at Brickworks Sydney Design Studio, inDETAIL allows industry professionals to connect over an evening of conversation, networking, insightful conversations, and great wine. The launch event was hosted by design aficionado Tim Ross and architect, writer and educator Stephen Varady, where they sat down with renowned architect, Alec Tzannes AM.
Alec Tzannes AM is the founding director of Tzannes. He established the firm’s distinctive design philosophy and collaborative work practices with a record of design excellence across a wide range of projects. Alec has served the community in a number of other roles including National President of the Australian Institute of Architects (2006-2007) and as Professor of Practice and Dean od UNSW Built Environment (2008-2015). In 2017 UNSW honoured Alec’s achievements with the degree of Doctor of the University honoris causa.
In his chat with Tim Ross and Stephen Varady, Alec shared insights into his personal life, his architectural practice, awards and some of his most iconic projects such as DANGROVE Art Storage Facility, and International House Sydney.
